K-Tools: Texture Map Loader - Automate Your PBR Workflow
Location: Shader Editor -> N-Panel -> K-Tools
Why to pick this add-on?? ✨
Tired of repetitive texture setup in Blender? K-Tools: Texture Map Loader automates loading, assigning, and managing PBR maps.
Features:
This add-on is also designed to work with any Node Group or Shader Setup, but the Load Texture Set Operator will only work if your Nodes of Image Texture have the proper label listed in the add-on settings
For the Parallax Occlusion to work, you need to feed the same Hight Map from your Texture Set into the 'Displacement' in the Custom Mapping Node
Tip: Turn on the Recursive Option in the N-Panel, this way you don't need to Open the Node Group
Spend less time clicking, more time creating!
Some features from this Node Group Setup was inspirated or adapted from:
When selecting the files you have the option to clean the material before setting everything up.
Convert to K-Tools BSDF: Automatically replaces the standard Principled BSDF with the "K-Tools: BSDF", seamlessly transferring all existing values and connections.
Convert Images to Loader: Scans the material, identifies textures, and packs them into the "K-Tools: Maps Loader". It automatically applies Color Space, Interpolation, and Projection settings, reconnects the Vector mapping, and cleans up the original loose nodes.
"Prefer Packed Maps" Filter: A new preference that detects ORM/ARM maps during the loading phase. If found, it automatically skips redundant singular maps (AO, Roughness, Metallic) to save VRAM.
Auto-Toggle: Automatically enables the "Use Packed Texture" switch on the Loader node when a packed map is detected.
Smart Connections: The "Connect Groups" operator now reads the Packed state. When active, it automatically routes the internal ORM data to the BSDF, seamlessly bypassing empty singular image nodes.
Asset Browser Sync: Manage the K-Tools Asset Library directly from the add-on preferences with a real-time, 1-click register/remove toggle.
Robust Shortcut Management: One-Click Setup is now bound to Alt + T by default. The preferences panel includes native keymap editing and a bulletproof "Restore Default" button that cleanly overwrites Blender API conflicts.
This extension requests the following permission:
Load Node Groups from disk
I'm glad it is useful for you! I hope you can also enjoy the new features from the newest update release!
This add-on works great! Easily simplifies adding PBR textures to materials without having to manually connect them one by one. This is a huge time saver!
