Shift precisely adjust

Usage:

  1. Press Shift + R to activate Lighting Mode. Hover the cursor over objects to automatically control the light and illuminate the desired area.
  2. Press Spacebar to switch to Precision Adjustment Mode. Use Left Mouse to confirm positioning, or Right Mouse/Esc to cancel.
  3. Press Ctrl + Right Mouse to open the Light Parameters Panel. This panel displays both standard light parameters and automatically retrieves available parameters from light node groups for easy node adjustments.
  4. Quickly and precisely select corresponding lights by pressing Alt + Right Mouse on areas lit by the lights, eliminating the need to search through scattered lights.
  5. Customize shortcuts in the Preferences settings.

  1. 按下 Shift + R 进入灯光模式,鼠标悬停于物体表面时将自动控制灯光照亮目标区域。
  2. 按下 空格键 切换至精细调整模式,确认角度后使用鼠标左键放置灯光,鼠标右键或Esc键取消操作。
  3. 按下 Ctrl + 鼠标右键 触发灯光参数面板,该面板除常规参数外,还会自动读取灯光节点组中的可用参数,便于直接调整节点属性。
  4. 通过在模型被灯光照亮的区域上按下 Alt + 鼠标右键 ,精准快速的选择对应的灯光,而不需要在大量灯光中无序的寻找灯光。
  5. 可在偏好设置中自定义快捷键。

  • Fixed an offset issue between the mouse cursor and the actual light hit point in orthographic camera view.
  • Fixed a bug where the light would move closer and closer to the model or gradually become locked to the vertical center when adjusting its position in Precise mode.
  • Moved the feature introduction text from the bottom-left to the top of the viewport to match Blender's style.
  • In Reflection mode, you can now drag the mouse across viewports to continue lighting. Simply move the mouse from Viewport A to Viewport B; Precise mode remains unchanged.
  • Added quick light/shadow linking to the Ctrl+Right-click light panel, with explanatory text at the top.
  • Added a reset-to-default button next to material parameter values in the Ctrl+Right-click light panel.
  • Replaced the crosshair effect with a new one, as the previous one felt a bit outdated. (Crosshair style inspired by CG Flow's Flow Navigation Lite)

Great addon for quickly positioning lights. Please add:

  1. The ability to rotate the light on local Z.
  2. Scale should not scale the light but change its size (both X/Y and square) instead.
  3. Position light on normal like default Blender's Shift+T then hold CTRL.

Hi, thank you for your kind words, I'm really glad you like the addon!

I’ve carefully read through your suggestions. The features you mentioned are all very useful, and I agree they make sense in daily workflows. However, most of them are already well supported by Blender itself with fairly straightforward operations. For features that already exist in Blender and are not too complex to use, I personally prefer not to duplicate them inside the addon, especially when I don't see a clearly better or simpler interaction design than Blender’s current solution.

Here are some notes on your points:

  • About light scaling: Blender already provides a Normalize option in the light settings, which keeps the light intensity unchanged when scaling. I think this is very useful, and I can add this switch to the addon’s light panel for quicker access.

  • About rotating the light: You can directly use Blender’s built-in rotation (for example R → Z in local space), or adjust it in the shader/material if needed.

  • About placing light by normal: This is also something Blender already supports with its existing snapping and placement tools.

  • About using scale vs size: The addon currently uses object scale instead of size mainly because Alt + S allows you to quickly reset the scale in one step, which is very convenient in practice.

Thanks again for your feedback and suggestions. I really appreciate you taking the time to share your ideas, and I’m always open to improving the addon where it truly makes the workflow simpler or more efficient.
