Key Features:

  • Quick Color Application: Use Quick Color Pie Menu for preset colors, random color assignment, color removal, or copying colors across nodes, all with directional selection for fast results.

  • Customizable Colors: In Precise Color Pie Menu, set and save five unique colors, tailored to your preferences. Also includes options for random, copy, and color removal.

  • Sidebar Backup: All functions are available in a sidebar menu for those who prefer a traditional setup.

  • Customizable Hotkeys: Boost your efficiency even further with customizable hotkeys available in the add-on preferences.

Perfect for organizing and visualizing large node networks, Node Color Tools brings order to your workspace with effortless color control.

Two Dynamic Pie Menus:

Quick Color Pie Menu

  • Set All Selected Nodes to Specific Colors: Choose from a selection of hard-coded colors for a fast and consistent look.

  • Random Color Assignment: Instantly apply random colors to your selected nodes for a fun and dynamic layout.

  • Remove Color: Clean up your node tree by easily removing color from selected nodes.

  • Copy Color from Active Node: Quickly replicate the color of the active node to other selected nodes with directional selection for speed and efficiency.

Precise Color Pie Menu

What's New

1.0.3 March 24th, 2025
  • Updated a couple of lines of code to make the addon compatible with Blender 4.4

The addon uses icons from Blenders Sequencer, for example "SEQUENCE_COLOR_05". These Sequence_Color icons were renamed to "STRIP_COLOR_05" in Blender 4.4 The addon now checks the Blender version and uses the corresponding icon name.

Dearest amazing dev, Here's my suggestions do with them as you will, I DEMAND MORE COLORS lol I was gonna ask if you could please add a small button above the "Copy from active" button that's to "Select Custom" which would bring up a color picker but then I realized that'd be the perfect replacement for the honestly useless other pie lol make the other pie into another set of custom colors separate from the first set of colors and remove the shortcut i'd have it as a middle button like i said before and keeping the name "Precise colors" as you could then add the color picker at the bottom of the pie and have the rest custom colors, which in my opinion is a perfect fit that ties the name together. Sidenotes idk about others and i AM still a noob at blender technically but i use the "Quick color pie" as it looks better than the precise pie and i've even set it to Z and the windows key respectively lol best extension though fr this should be standard.

Hi Joseph, thank you for the Review. :D I would like to have more colors myself. Unfortunately at the moment it is not possible to change the colors of icons in Blender at the moment. There are only a couple of hardcoded ones which can not be changed with an extension. Therefore I have no way of implementing a more colors in a way that the use can also see which field in the pie menu is which color. The only way to do this is the way the "preciese color menu" is doing it at the moment but in this case i lose the ability to quick select. I believe that the Blender developers are currently working on implementing some sort of possiblitiy to change colors in user interface elements and when it becomes possible more colors are on my list.

For further discussion and/or feature requests please go tot the "Refer Issues" link right next to the description of the addon.

But why are there two shortcut keys and can’t select one of them?

Thank you for the review. :D

"D" calls the quick color pie. It brings up hardcolded colors. This menu can be used with directional selection. Directional selection is when you hold "D" and just quickly swipe the mouse in the direction of the pie item you want to select. This is very fast.

The "Z" hotkey brings up the "Precise Colors Pie". The colors in this menu are not hardcoded. You can customize the colors in this menu but directional selection does not work. The Colors of the "Precise Color Pie" can also be set in the side bar (often known as N-Panel) of the Node editor.

You can customize your shortcut keys in the Addons preferences.

As soon as the Blender Python API gives me a way to have customizable colors and directional selection I will merge the two menus into a single one. But at the moment it is not possible to have these two features in one pie menu.
