Bravo.
Love this thing!
A couple requests...
Fix Selected Vertices >> Could "Fix" be changed to some other word, such as "pin"? Fix can be misinterpreted to mean "correct," which means exactly the opposite of what the option does, which is not correct the selected vertices. (I had to re-read the documentation to figure out why it wasn't "fixing" the vertices I was selecting lmao.
As for the other options, I find myself unable to grasp what they do by the name alone, like what's the diff between iterations and optimization rounds etc, so I feel I'm most likely not using it how I'm supposed to.
Anyway, kudos!
Hi, thank you for the review <3
Your suggestions are great! I renamed the setting to "Pin selected vertices". You can also get a more detailed description by hovering over the value. Overall, things should be a bit less confusing now.
I did a very poor job at really explaining the details of the optimization process and what each option really does. Honestly, even I do not have a clear picture of how all the parameters impact optimization time and result quality. At the moment I am running some experiments to get a better understanding of this. The results will be uploaded to the projects github page.
Quick explainer here: The algorithm performs multiple optimization rounds, each with its own closeness weight value (ranging between the two values you can set in the options). During each optimization round, at most "Max Iterations" optimization steps are performed. So the total number of optimization steps is the product of the two settings.
If you get nice results, you are using this tool perfectly :)
I signed up to express how amazing this add on is.
