Hi sorry for the inconvenience, first time i hear about this problem, you may have installed it incorrectly.
Here is the proper way of installing extensions :
go to blender (v4.2.x and higher, anterior version will not work) preferences
go to "get extension" category (left of the preferences panel)
search for "auto reload", then click on "install", and you are good to go !
if you want to set the addon preferences, you can go to "add- ons" category and search for it, there are some settings you can tweak
If this solves your problem, your installation method was wrong somehow. In this case, please consider changing your rating if you like the addon ? :)
