Hi, thanks for the review!
I do agree that it would be nice if Blender could do it out of the box, though I would hope it would be implemented in a better (and easier to expand) way than how this addon does it.
Good thing is, Blender's developers are already discussing and working on a process dialog system that might make this addon either simpler to extend, or completelly unneeded:

VSE render completion doesn't seem to play any notification sound, is it not implemented yet?
Hello, thanks for the review!
I haven't done any special case for VSE renders, so I guess that's why. I'll look into this next time I have a minute to update the addon.
Great addon and a very good idea, it's especially useful to hear a sound alert when the render finishes. However, for it to work, I have to disable/enable the addon every time I open Blender (ver. 4.4.3).
Hi, thanks for your feedback!
This kind of issue should have been fixed as of version 1.0.5 of the addon. It was reported to me in ticket #3, and the issue seem to persist only with files created with older Blender versions, in which case I recommend trying to make a new clean file from the latest Blender version and then append the content of your old file in there.
If you still encounter issues, please send a bug report on this link:

Excellent!!! very very useful. Thanks for your contribution
This plugin is truly excellent! It would be even more perfect if there were more built - in alert sounds. Nevertheless, it remains an extremely outstanding plugin. Thank you for your efforts in developing it.
Thanks for the feedback, I'm glad this addon helps you!
A better place to discuss feature requests would be on the tracker:

The extension's review page is for other users to know if it's worth downloading, we are pretty limited here in what we can do with messages.
By "more built-in alert sounds", I understand this in two ways:
