- Why does your addon change the color of the theme's borders without users permission?
- Everything should be off by default: it's up to user what he want to enable
Thanks for your feedback.
The addon does exactly what it says in the description, including >temporary< highlighting of the UI border color. Resolving the warning, turning off the addon or switching off the border highlights in the addon preferences, all these actions restore your original theme color. It's temporary and non destructive.
I believe that how the defaults are now, it is the most useful to the average user. Importantly it can warn the user about problems they don't even know about, hence wouldn't enable when they configure the addon from a "everything off" default.
Also want to request to add an option to auto disable shadows in solid viewport, since they can cause lots of lagging.
Hi, Alexander. I've added this option in version 1.1.0. Hope you like it!
it's nice but.. please, add cube as an option for shape, and local/global orientation parameter...
I've taken a look into this for you. Next version will have a properly aligned local axis that's oriented with the object (Z normal for plane, Z along long-axis of cylinder, obviously not applicable to sphere).
However, turns out the maths for cube-fitting is really complex (more so than the shapes already covered), and possibly not doable in blender without relying on external dependancies (which I don't want to do).
I implemented a couple of algorithms for fitting cubes/cuboids and they were, to be frank, rubbish, and it'd be way quicker to just hand align a cube. I'll keep an eye out, but don't expect cube fitting anytime soon, sorry.
v1.2 with oriented local axes uploaded
Sadly not importing uv's and materials assignment :(
This should usually work. Is there an error output in system console? Would be nice if you can use the issues page, best would be to upload the not working file
Thanx! Nice and very simple addon! Working through pre- and post- render handlers! No docs needed, basically theres only one option for editing.
Nice work. Really what Blender's collection system needed Just imagine, that Blender's "Background Scene" parameter would have offset and visibility option, so the addon could use that to represantate greyed out background context of general scene by linking it to "Library" Scene..
