Presets are nodes templetes that can be stored, modified, got.
You can manage & apply presets across .blend files:
Plus
icon button on the right of the preset select window. Current selected nodes will be saved to the new preset.Fast Create Preset Name

Auto
- Try to open image with mode Similar
> Fixed Path
> Stay Empty

- Find the best matched image according to the name similarity algorithm in user set folder.Name Key
- Find the best matched image according to user defined keys in user set folder.Fixed Path
- Open the same image with the original path.Stay Empty

Tolerance
- The tolerance of the image name comparation when the texture's mode is Similar Name
, higher means that more dissimilar images can pass the comparation and be loaded rather than using fixed path & stay empty. Default 0.50 as a moderate tolerance.Folder
- The directory path to try find images when in Auto

/ Keys

Thanks for the thorough description, but I think it might be little too much, I had to spend some time to find actual information I needed. Some things like license, installation guide, and requirements are already written in the right side panel and shouldn't be necessary. I would also try to avoid duplications.
In general add-on is fine. I will make one suggestion which is optional, but I think will improve UI and make add-on cleaner. You register all properties directly to the Scene ID, which clutters "Custom Properties" panel of scene if you have Developer Extras enabled, and you register A LOT of them, so actual user made custom properties get lost in the API ones. Would you consider registering your scene properties inside one CollectionProperty group?
If you're gonna do it its best to do it now before its unreleased, because if you make this sort of change after the release you'll have to write versioning to convert properties. So I'll leave this as Awaiting Changes until I hear your answer.
