Optimize your file! Display the number of users for the selected object in the viewport, right next to its name.
To enable, go to: Object Properties > Viewport Display > Show, then choose one of:
Shows the count of shared data users (e.g., mesh, curve). This number typically increases when using linked-duplicates (ALT + D) and can also be found under Properties > Data (number displayed next to the data name).
Shows the count of scenes sharing an object (not located in a linked collection). This number typically increases when using Right Click > Link to Scene, or Scene > Link Copy. Multi-user objects share transformations, modifiers, animation data, and more, appearing consistently across scenes. This number can also be found Properties > Object (number displayed next to the object name).
Shows the count of scenes sharing the collection that the object belongs to. Linked collections are similar to Linked Objects, except that they affect every objects located in that collection. To avoid confusion, the master Scene Collection is never taken into account in the Collection user counts. Collection Users show the following:
