I logged in just to say this; this add on is a life saver!! Incredible work and a very handy tool, especially when dealing with imported meshes that have individual parts with no correct rotation orientations.

The one MAJOR problem with this add on though, is that you can't set the origin orientation on multiple selected objects at once. Let's say you have a model with hundreds of individual parts with their own origins, you cannot correctly set the orientation of each part simultaneously -- so you would have to one-by-one select each part to set its orientation, which is practically just not doable due to being way overly tedious.

Also, there's no way to Assign a Shortcut to this function. So if you were to go the one-by-one route, you cannot even make the task any less tedious to assign orientations to the hundreds or thousands of individual origins.

Hi, could you please post an issue on GitHub with more info about that first one? I think for that you can use Blender's Align to Transform Orientation in the Object / Transform menu, combined with Affect Only Origins, and that should do the trick without any add-on needed. But if I'm missing something, please let me know here: https://github.com/jlampel/orient_to_selection/issues

Amazing! Now I won't get frustrated with the movement/rotate/scaling point being far away from the object I am trying to edit! :D

Useful! please can you translate the menu into Italian? The translation is "Origin to Selection".

thanks this is really handy. Its also useful for checking 3d printing overhangs with different build orientations! In edit mode with mesh analysis overlays enabled, the overhangs change depending on the orientation of the origin. so with this addon i select a face and can see the overhangs that build orientation would have.
