(If you missed the previous major update, check out the epic features introduced in v1.1.0 below 👇)
Ctrl to toggle axis and Shift for precision tweaking.Shift + Alt + E seamlessly invokes either Face or Edge interactive tools based on your current selection mode.🚀 Key Features Interactive Modal Workflow Say goodbye to tedious numeric panels! The tool now takes over mouse control upon activation, allowing you to drag and preview extrusion and equidistant outset effects in real time.
Basic Drag: Move your mouse to directly control the extrusion distance (Face Mode) or outset distance (Edge Mode).
Dual-Axis Toggle: Hold Ctrl while dragging to seamlessly switch to adjusting the secondary dimension parameter.
Precision Tweaking: Hold Shift while dragging to slow down the movement for high-precision adjustments.
Smart Topology Detection Added adjacent face detection logic to Face Extrude. When extruding connected surfaces, it automatically deletes the bottom faces to create a perfect cavity. When extruding isolated faces, it automatically retains and flips the normals of the bottom faces to generate a complete closed shell.
Smart Call Shortcut No need to memorize multiple hotkeys! Introduced a unified global smart hotkey (default: Shift + Alt + E). Once pressed, the add-on automatically detects whether you are in Face Mode or Edge Mode and seamlessly triggers the corresponding interactive tool.
Custom Shortcut Preferences Added a visual hotkey configuration panel within Blender's Add-on Preferences (Preferences -> Extensions -> OmniOutset), allowing you to easily rebind the shortcut to your preferred keys.
🛠️ Improvements & Fixes Real-time Viewport Rendering: Fixed an issue where mesh normals were not updating during interactive dragging. The lighting and shading feedback is now completely real-time and accurate while dragging.
Native Multilingual Support: The real-time HUD parameter feedback in the bottom status bar is now fully integrated with the localization interface, offering seamless support for both English and Chinese.
Core Architecture Upgrade: The code logic has been completely refactored to fully comply with Blender 4.2+'s latest blender_manifest.toml extension specifications, ensuring better compatibility and more efficient performance.
Welcome to the first official release of OmniOutset!
This initial version is designed to bring industry-standard, truly equidistant outsets right into your Blender modeling workflow, saving you from messy overlaps and manual tweaking.
