MarkCam — Camera & Marker Tools (v2)

MarkCam is a lightweight toolset for creating and managing camera-bound timeline markers—right from the Timeline header, with a handy management panel in the Timeline’s N-panel.

Header actions

Click the camera icon → Bind the active camera to a marker at the current frame.

Shift + Click the camera icon → Create a new camera from the current 3D view (no marker).

Ctrl + Click the camera icon → Create a new camera from the current 3D view and bind it to a marker at the current frame.

Click the X → Remove marker(s) at the current frame (camera objects are not deleted).

Ctrl + Click the X → Remove all timeline markers (with confirmation).

#NEW in v2 — “Camera Ranges” (Timeline N-panel)

Shows only cameras that have a camera-bound marker.

Columns: Camera (inline rename) · Start (editable; live-moves the marker) · End (auto-computed up to the next camera’s start or scene end) · Select/Jump (selects the camera and moves the playhead to its start).

Refresh button: sorts by start, fixes overlaps, and rewrites the camera schedule so ranges don’t collide.

Notes

Works only in the Timeline mode of the Dope Sheet.

Designed for speed: no menus—just click, shift-click, or ctrl-click.

What's New

2.5.0 October 18th, 2025

✅ This add-on is now fully compatible with Blender 5.0 and above. Since the Timeline Editor no longer exists in these versions, the add-on has been moved to the Dope Sheet Editor, which is open by default instead of the old timeline.
