Interactively add lights and shadows to your scenes. Draw where you want the light to affect, and Light Painter adds and places the light for you.
"[This] turns light design in Blender on its head: instead of manipulating the lights, you indicate how you want them to appear on your models by painting their influence. Very cool and innovative!" - BlenderNation
Supports:
Adjust lamp distance, power, and size using keyboard shortcuts within the modal tools.
Utility to add basic procedural gobos node setup for lamps (Cycles only).
This extension does not require special permissions.
I have lights visible by default mainly just because Blender has them on by default, and so users can visually see where the lights are in their scene. But it's a good idea to be able to set some of these by default before running the tool for convenience, I'll add that to the backlog to consider.
such an interesting approach to get creative highlights and reflections! <3 It crashes in 4.4, Does anyone else have this issue or it's just me? :)
Thank you! I got it fixed and working in 4.4 with the newest release today, try that. If you have any further issues, feel free to report the issue on the code's repo :)
Some time it works fine and sometime Bro it is crashing in 4.3 don't know why?
Check if the most recent versions do the same. If you can find a way to consistently reproduce it, please file an issue for it
Great addon, but I think the lights being visible to the camera should be off by default, or at least have a setting to make it so. I was so confused why my light sources were visible in my renders, until I discovered it was that setting.
