Rotate your HDRI or shadows directly from the viewport using your mouse (default keymap: CTRL + ALT + RMB). While similar tools exist, this extension stands out by supporting custom HDRIs and shadow control in Solid shading.
Note regarding custom HDRIs: note that this extension does NOT do any mapping setup, and assumes that your World HDRI is correctly setup (a mapping node must be connected to an image texture)
The keymap can be changed via the add-on preferences or in the main keymap menu.
*: tested with HDRIs manually imported from Polyhaven, or automatically imported via Polyhaven Asset Library and Blenderkit
Hold the Shift key to rotate your light with finer accuracy.
This extension does not require special permissions.
The experience was not very good, there were crashes and file corruption, and I even had to reset shortcut keys and startup files. I hope the problem can be fixed. Maybe give me a GitHub link so that I can report an issue? The version is 4.2.3
Hey mate, thanks for the feedback! I’m looking into the error. While I don’t have a GitHub page, feel free to join the Discord server if you’re interested. Could you share more details about your issue? Did this happen in versions before 4.2.3? Could you outline the steps that led to the crash and confirm if it occurred while using the operator? Any extra details would be a big help.
Cheers, F
