This major update introduces powerful organizational tools, smart naming conventions, and crucial performance optimizations to make managing multiple cameras in complex scenes easier than ever.
Cam Tools v1.1.0 Changelog
Camera Grouping & Filtering: Organize cameras into sub-collections. Filter the UI list by group, or view "ALL" with visible group tags (e.g., [Shot_01]).
Group Management Tools: Added dedicated buttons to create, move, ungroup, and instantly purge empty camera groups.
Smart Naming & Sorting: The UI list now auto-sorts alphabetically. Added smart sequential naming (e.g., Camera_01) for new and duplicated cameras.
Batch Operations: Added a dynamic "Clear Selected" button to instantly uncheck all cameras across the scene.
DOF Distance Readout: Added a live "Distance to Target" display (in meters) when using a Depth of Field Focus Object.
UI Revamp: Redesigned the main toolbar with cleaner split layouts, improved scaling, and better visual hierarchy.
UX Improvements: Restored clear warning messages for operations (like Mirroring or Auto-Leveling) to prevent silent failures when no camera is active.
First public release of Cam Tools for Blender 4.2+.
Includes viewport-based camera creation, fast camera management, auto-level verticals, mirror tools, and per-camera resolution overrides (Cam-Res) with presets and custom scaling — all accessible from the N-panel.
