Hi Carlos, I'm sorry the addon is not working for you. I can recommend some troubleshooting steps, if you are still interested, and you can follow up with me on Github, Mastodon, BlenderArtists or spectralvectors.ca:

• it sounds like there is a conflict between addon versions
• first try uninstalling in Blender, closing Blender, then re-opening before installing
• if that doesn't work, try manually deleting the addon files, on Windows it will be in the AppData/Roaming/Blender... folder, on Linux it will be in .config/blender... depending on which version of Blender you're using you can then navigate to the extensions/blender_org folder, then delete right_mouse_navigation, then restart Blender and re-install the addon
• if that still doesn't work you can try reverting to Factory Preferences, BUT BE WARNED, THIS WILL DELETE ALL YOUR PREFERENCES, SO BACK THEM UP IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM FIRST!!!!

There is no way to disable "Long Press Time", but the delay can be shortend from default 0.4s to 0.2. I tried to change it so you can go lower, but then Poly Quilt broke unfortunately since its so built around this feature.

If I ever get the time I will look into adding a no delay mode, but most of my time currently is spent on just maintaing the add-on.
