UI Color and Size
The current version does not support IME input. But text can still be pasted.
When the Blender theme or UI font is changed, you need to manually press "Reload Fonts".
When the workspace changes / load a new blend file / switch to local or quad view, the subsystem will automatically close.
Changing length units or unit scale requires restarting the editor.
The preview of color properties for some colors is inaccurate.
Blender Foundation confirms there is an internal bug that prevents certain colors from being displayed in GPU module,
some colors will display incorrectly in the UI until they are fixed.
Fix:
show_in_editmode
show_on_cage
use_apply_on_spline
use_pin_to_last
This extension requests the following permissions:
Import/export from disk to user-supplied path
Copy and paste from shortcut/UI
This extension has a large number of code-quality issues. Further, the purpose of this extension isn't so clear to me. It seems to include a lot of unrelated functionality (sets keymap, performs GPU drawing).
It seems like this might be better of split into multiple extensions.
So I'd rather see this go through functionality review before code review.
From running checks, these issues came up:
This add-on uses backslash literals as path separators which won't work on Linux or macOS.
Use os.sep
for the native path separator or utility functions such as os.path.join
or the pathlib
module.
This add-on seems to use names in literal quotes without being escaped. Names may themselves contain quotes or other characters that need to be escaped.
For example:
data_path = 'objects["{:s}"]'.format(object.name)
is incorrect because object.name
may contain a "
character.
To resolve:
repr(...)
or the !r
conversion flag for f-strings or str.format
.bpy.utils.escape_identifier(..)
.The two mistakes you provided should have been resolved. Since I can't test on Linux or macOS right Now, please let me know if it fails to install.
I've gone through all manual I could find and still don't know how to even call the panel... This is very poorly made, no offense. What does it mean project is script generated? Do you mean this is AI-written tool?
Looking at the images, it seems you create your own panels with GPU drawings? This is not disallowed, but I would be concerned about the performance. Although I have to test this to make sure, as soon as you tell me how to use the add-on...
I tried everything panel will simply not show for me. I'm going to mark this as Awaiting Review until you find the reason for that and resolve it. And please test add-on thoroughly before marking it for review again
Panel isn't showing at all in the sidebar. I can't find anything related to this add-on once I install it
It does, but user shouldn't have to restart Blender after installing add-on, so that's not acceptable
register()
is called any time Blender is launched, add-on is enabled, or even when file is changed. I doubt that is the issue there.
