Detailed introduction and update log on Github: https://github.com/RolandVyens/Industrial-AOV-Connector
In a word: The best AOV output tool that publicly available. Continuously envolving. Supports material based aovs and light group based aovs, also can do hybrid. Supports multiple Viewlayers from scratch. This plugin can make output nodes automatically for you, intelligently make denoise nodes based on the outputs' type, convert position/normal/vector pass to nuke standard passes (fusion/ae can also use in theory). After version 2.1, the plugin can output hi-res anti-aliased z and p channel, and a fake deep channel.

Thanks for your contribution. A few remarks ...
Just press "Update Current ViewLayer"
Where am I supposed to find this? (update just found it on the View Layer properties. Although it may be obvious, I was looking for this on the compositor. It may be worth mentioning it on the description.
By the way, you can remove all the optional fields on the manifest if you want (the ones commented out with #).
Finally, would you mind leaving only the English version of the description?
We've added new mandatory fields: Featured Image and Icon. Featured Image is shown at the home page instead of the first preview image, and icon is shown in the extension's title (and later will be shown in Blender as well).
Could you please update your extension with an icon and a featured image?
Apologies for the late heads up.
Changes has been made. I don't have time and energy to write another version of description, so I just leave a brief description and a link to github full introduction. Thanks for understanding
Also the unused lines in the .toml file has been removed
Two things you will need to modify before we can approve this add-on:
bl_idname = __name__
and all occurrences of the add-on name need to be replaced with __package__
(Documentation)'viewlayer.makedatalayer' does not contain '_MT_' with prefix and suffix
Other suggestions:
bl_info
in the __init__
file can be removed as they are now stored in the manifest fileI still want to keep compatibility with lower blender versions, is changing bl_idname broken compatibility with previous version? If so I need to apologize I can't change this
To maintain compatibility with older versions of Blender, I suppose you can keep the bl_info and use __name__
instead of __package__
.
However, extensions that are available on this platform are only accessible on Blender 4.2 and above. So technically, add-ons don't need to have backward compatibility with previous versions of Blender.
Oh well that would be really nice. I'm currently also provide this plugin on github, blender market and some other places, if I break up the package into 2 same version but aiming different version number of blender, people may accidentally get the wrong version, so keep 1 package is easier for users I think
naming bug has been fixed, no more warnings
Built this for VFX, you can expect this plugin has no bug. I've tested everything countless times
This add-on needs Files permission since it exports and uses os
and shutil
module.
I also see in panel at the bottom there is "Output Tools:" label but nothing below it. Is something missing that should be there?
now this should be more clear on permission list, also on addon interface.
warning has been fixed, also some bugs has been fixed
Can't install the add-on
Error: Add-on not loaded: "bl_ext.user_default.Industrial_AOV_Connector", cause: No module named 'bl_ext.user_default.Industrial_AOV_Connector'
I'm not sure what is causing it, it might help to know that I'm testing it by creating "portable" folder inside Blender installation folder and testing on full factory reset.
Turns out it was a bug on my end. Everything works properly. Sorry about that.
Approving, but as user feedback UI is extremely cluttered and hard to read. Unless you already know your way around it. I would advise following Blender UI guidelines: using layout.use_property_split
, having separators between features, having one property on one line and etc.
Thanks for the advice, I will continue improve my coding skill, and I will try layout modifications in the future releases
Using __name__
to lookup add-on preferences is no longer valid,
see: https://docs.blender.org/manual/en/dev/advanced/extensions/addons.html#user-preferences-and-package
uploaded new version: Add-on "Industrial AOV Connector" v2.3.1
name has been replaced fully
uploaded new version: Add-on "Industrial AOV Connector" v2.3.2
I apologize for this mistake. I am very grateful to you for pointing out the bug.
Thanks
uploaded new version: Add-on "Industrial AOV Connector" v2.4.0
Hey everyone,
Just a heads-up about a recent change regarding the licensing of add-ons on the Blender extension platform. Moving forward, all add-ons will need to be released under the GNU/GPL 3.0 license (SPDX:GPL-3.0-or-later). This is mainly to keep things simple and consistent across the board.
Previously, we accepted various licenses as long as they were compatible with Blender’s distribution. However, to avoid any confusion and streamline the process, all add-ons using the bpy API should now be presented as GPL 3 (the same license the Blender bundle is distributed). Regardless of whether the original code was under GPL 2, or something else like MIT or ZLIB.
Existing add-ons versions won't be affected. However, new updates will need to comply to the revised requirements.
Thanks for understanding, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
