Cut without preview option
To enable this option
Go to Blender preferences -> Addons Find in list Half knife Go to Keymaps tab Open Half knife keymap, check Cut without preview option
Now you can do cuts without pressing mouse buttons. When the operator is invoked from an outside of the mesh the preview will still be shown.

This allows the user to choose if there should be any preview when a cut is started from outside a mesh.
This extension does not require special permissions.
Thanks for the submission.
While forks of GPL add-ons are obviously allowed, we have to do some due diligence to avoid name conflicts. Original creators might want to upload their version on the platform and see a fork already takes original name. Can you either change the name to something else (adding the fork name in brackets might be enough), or contact original creator and get his approval of using the original name?
Also, it will be good to mention this is a fork and credit original authors at the start of the description; also note what is different from the original version so that users who might be familiar with the original know what to expect with this version.
Thanks!
Hi nickberckley, thank you for the review! :)
I think it’s a bit different in this case, since it’s not really a fork, I am currently the official maintenancer of the add-on and has gotten permission to work on it from the original creator (who is no longer working on it) and full access to the GitHub repository. See here: https://blenderartists.org/t/half-knife-fast-knife-tool-for-blender/1222319/78
So since it’s not a GitHub fork, and I am working on the official branch of the add on on GitHub, I would argue that it’s the “official” version of the add-on.
Hope it makes sense, but just adding Fork in the name and that the add on that been updated to work in 4.2 is not to bad, so it’s not a big deal honestly.
Alright then.
