Camera2View – Create & Animate Cameras From Your Viewport

Streamline your camera workflow in Blender with one click.

The Camera2View add-on lets you easily create a new camera from your current 3D viewport perspective and animate it — all from a simple panel in the side bar. This is especially useful for scene planning, camera cuts, and walkthrough animations.

HOW TO GET STARTED - VIDEO

How to use?

1. Create Camera from View

With one click, the add-on captures your current 3D view and creates a camera in exactly that position and angle. The new camera is named like: Camera2View_1, Camera2View_2, etc.It immediately switches to camera view and locks the viewport to the new camera.

2. Keyframe Camera Position

Adds keyframes to the camera’s position and rotation — great for basic camera animation.Perfect for setting up camera moves or walkthroughs without manually animating each frame.

3. Switch Between Cameras

Navigate between multiple Camera2View_* cameras using “Next” and “Previous” buttons.Useful for testing different camera angles and perspectives quickly.

4. Keyframe Navigation

Jump to the next or previous keyframe of the currently active Camera2View camera.Makes it easy to preview or edit specific camera positions in your animation timeline.

5. Keyframe Individual Camera Settings

Lets you animate camera properties like: Focal length (zoom) Ortho scale (for orthographic cameras) Lens unit Clipping range Lens shift

Just click “Keyframe” next to the property in the panel — no need to hunt through menus.

Where to Find It?

Once installed, the panel is available in: 3D Viewport > Sidebar (press N) > Camera2View tab

Who is this for?

Animators and scene designers who want a fast way to block out camera moves. Beginners who don’t want to mess with constraints or the camera object directly. Anyone creating previs, cutscenes, or flythroughs.
