That would be better, but IKEA's API doesn't include "3D model exists or not" in the search results -- the only way to know is to try downloading it and see if we get a model or an error :(
Very cool add-on though plenty of 3D models are missing, even though they show up on Ikeas website, at least in my country (Denmark)
Can you give an example of a product that shows up on the Denmark website but not in the add-on? If you go to "Blender -> Preferences -> Add-ons -> IKEA Browser" and change your country / language codes to match the website, do they show up?
Works great for most things. However, when I tried to import the "BILLY Bookcase, black oak effect, 80x28x106 cm" model, I got an error message: Error downloading model for #00477337: No model available for #00477337
Unfortunately, not all products on ikea's website have a 3D model - and there's no way to know whether a product has a model other than attempting to download it and seeing if it succeeds or fails - there's not much that an extension can practically do without the IKEA API including model info in the search results :(
its really good addon but i get this error whie using it on blender 4.3 FileNotFoundError: Could not find module 'C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 4.3\4.3\python\lib\site-packages\extern_draco.dll' (or one of its dependencies). Try using the full path with constructor syntax. Location: C:\Program Files\Blender Foundation\Blender 4.3\4.3\scripts\modules\bpy\ops.py:109
That's a bug in Blender 4.3.0 - it was fixed a couple of days ago, and the fix is on the shortlist of patches to be released in 4.3.1 (I can't imagine why it wouldn't be included, so we just need to wait)
Pleasant surprise to find this add-on. The trianglulated meshes are not easy to tweak, but for just drag-and-drop, it's perfect.
Life-saving extension!
this is cool. thank you! one note: it seems to limit search results to keep the list short. could that be changed? I'm sure they have more than 9 sofas...
I love this add in, but it says that I need permision to use the browser in the ikea tab. How do I give the add-on permision to use my browser?
Edit -> Preferences -> System -> Network -> Enable Online Mode
Very useful addon
Nice job!
muito bom isso, facilita a nossa vida uma fonte confiável com blocos de qualidades para archviz.
Having access to their models seemed like a good idea, but wouldn't it be better if the browser displayed only what is actually accessible?
